Authenticity is about being genuine and true to oneself. About being sincere and honest in all interactions with self-awareness, courage, and a willingness to embrace one's uniqueness and vulnerabilities. And, in the context of the DEI kaupapa, strategies, programmes and leadership without authentic engagement have no prospect of success as they will not be able to respond to the "whole selves" of the people they are intended support. In this session we look at authentic engagement through the lens of programme development, on the one hand, and leadership on the other. With this, we are unpacking the nuances of effective communication to foster connections, trust and rapport with individuals and communities.
