Kia ora koutou

The 2019 Connections Conference hosted by Sport New Zealand, is an opportunity to connect with colleagues and stimulate discussion across play, recreation and sport.   The programme has been developed, taking into account feedback on common key issues and how we can take a collaborative approach to ensure that no one misses out on the benefits of play, recreation and sport.

'EVERY BODY ACTIVE' is this year's theme, with a particular focus on children and young people.  Keynote speakers will explore key topics and inspirational stories from within and outside our sector, here in New Zealand and overseas, with a focus on Leadership, Equality, Innovation and Young People.

This is an invite only event for sport and recreation sector leaders / administrators / key staff – including Chairs, CEO’s and GM’s of all major national and regional sport and recreation organisations, as well as from Sport New Zealand, High Performance Sport New Zealand, and New Zealand Olympic and Paralympic Committees. Also, senior representatives from Government agencies, Councils, and the Education sector.

The conference will also include the NZ Sport and Recreation Awards evening on 24 June to recognise and celebrate excellence in New Zealand’s sport and recreation sector.
