Shopping in Wellington

From boutiques stocking local and international designers, to quirky gift stores, Wellington is a treasure trove of beautiful objects. The Golden Mile formed by Lambton Quay, Willis Street, Manners Street and Courtenay Place encompasses some of the best shopping on offer in Wellington.

Lambton Quay

Home to all of Wellington's larger and more well known shopping brands. 

Lambton Quay is also home to Wellington's major department store, David Jones, where you'll find everything from the latest fashion trends, to quality homeware and childrenswear, all under one roof in this stunning store. 

The Old Bank Arcade is one of Wellington’s most distinguished heritage buildings. In modern times, the former Bank of New Zealand headquarters is a prime shopping destination with a few hidden secrets up its sleeve.

Willis Street

Just a hop, skip and a jump from Lambton Quay lies Willis Street, featuring beautiful boutiques and hidden gems.

Wakefield Street

Cuba Street

Cuba Street is the capital of cool and is arguably the best known strip in Wellington. With its pedestrian friendly access and heritage listed facades, Cuba Street and the wider Cuba Quarter are sprinkled with eclectic urban design outposts, high-quality thrift stores and a miscellany of cafes, restaurants and bars. The bohemian area is a great place to people watch and absorb the artistic culture in between bargain hunting.
